Thanksgiving

Today I was looking online for information to use this week in teaching my children about Thanksgiving. As I browsed different sites I started reading stories written about the real "First Thanksgiving" not the one taught in government schools. Some articles talked about the feast that the Pilgrims and Native Americans shared then went on to talk about how the harmony between them did not last. Of course when I was in school no one ever brought that part up( at least not when talking about Thanksgiving). I think it is important to remember that one feast shared doesn't eliminate the future events.
I think that this week I will try to give a more balanced account of life between the Pilgrims and the Native Americans. I don't want to just tell them the story of one feast between two groups of people. If we don't remember the mistakes made in the past we are doomed to repeat them.

Goodbye to the Past

Vinson and I started looking through some of our old books last night. We came across a Chinese Numerology book that I'd forgotten about. I started reading and creating my chart and Vinson's. It was really interesting to see how on target it was. It showed that this past year I would have spent reevaluating past friendships. I was surprised because since the beginning of the this year I was telling Vins that I felt I was being left out in the cold by some friends. I finally came to the conclusion that I was spending my time trying to fit what other people thought I should be instead of being myself. In the past two months I've finally accepted that I need to move on and find new healthier friendships with people who can appreciate my weirdness.
I look forward to the next year ahead of me. According to the numerology it should be an exciting year filled with new creative projects. The past is behind me where it should be and I am moving ahead to enjoy my time with the people who love me just the way I am.

Strange Events?

My husband and I met our friend Andrew Griffin for lunch yesterday. We talked for a while about politics, movies, and strange events. The strange events part finally led up to the three of us talking about creating a website dealing with strange happenings in Louisiana. Most people would have just stopped there with only talking about it but not us. We agreed to get together within the next few days to create a website. As soon as Vinson and I got home he had me creating designs and opening a new Cafe Press shop. I didn't complain too much I was getting to put aliens on t-shirts. So now a new adventure begins. Luckily my children (ages 3& 5) are still young enough to think most everything we do is fun. Hmmm, not sure what they will think if we actually come face to face with bigfoot or E.T.
