Once Upon A Time Birthday Party

My daughter turned 13! Wow the time has flown by! When we started planning her birthday she decided she wanted to do a Once Upon A Time Party based off the TV series "Once Upon A Time". So, we started scouring the internet trying to find ideas for her party. Most of what we found was toddler fairy tale parties. We needed something a bit more mature.

We did find a few blogs with some good ideas that we were able to use like: Hot Glue and Sparkles , and Once Podcast.

So, here's what we did for Kaia's 13th Once Upon a Time Birthday Party.

Invitation:  We made our own invites and printed them from the computer. In the invite it asked all party guests to dress as a Once Upon A Time character. Everyone came in costume!

Decorations: We simply looked around the house for anything that fit the fairytale story themes. We also borrowed a few things from others. We have the Jolly Rogers Flag, Tinkerbell music globe, Snow Whites Apple, Cinderella's glass slipper and more.

We put up some signs so everyone could find their way around Storybrooke & the Enchanted Forest.

We put Welcome to Storybrooke on the door entering the house and Enchanted Forest going to the outdoors.

Wanted signs were posted throughout the forest.

More signs led to the Royal Throne (bathroom) and anywhere else you decided to travel.

Those attending took part in games that tested wit and skill! A Scavenger Hunt, Sword Fighting, Which tale is a lie, and Who did it?

Foam swords made the game fun and interesting!

The Scavenger hunt took them all over the realm!
Below are the clues from the Scavenger Hunt:

An evil darkness has fallen across the land! You must find the treasure to restore goodness again!
Look for the Willow that Weeps and there you will find the first clue!  (weeping willow tree)
Finding the Ogre
At the bottom of the hill lives an Ogre. Use a little faith, trust and Pixie Dust to receive your 2nd clue.
Red Riding Hood loves to visit. There you will find the 3rd clue, but beware the Big Bad Wolf may be around.    (our granny lives next door)
Search for Snow Whites Apple for your 4th Clue. But don’t eat the Apple!

Find one of Sleeping Beauties Mothers and she will hold your 5th Clue!
(a fairy statue)
Find Elsa’s favorite place on our property and you shall have your 6th Clue! (The freezer)

For your Final Clue You Must ask: Mirror Mirror on the wall I need a clue before the fall!
(they had to stand in front of the mirror and read the clue)

Join the Mad Hatter for a Tea Party and all shall be well!               (The mad hatter had a tea party set up and waiting for them)
The Mad Hatter host a tea party!
Goodness has been restored to the land, for your bravery you shall receive your just rewards!
The reward was the party goodie bags!

After all the fun it was time for food!

Uses for Young Living Essential Oils

We love our Young Living Essential Oils and use them for everything! From scraped knees to cleaning supplies to aromatherapy bath salts, we have found many uses for our oils. My husband and I used to take OTC pain relief medicine frequently. I was always worried about the harmful effects from them but at the time they were the only pain relief option we had in our home. Now, with Young Living Essential Oils we have been able to find safer and better pain relief options. We use Peppermint for minor sore muscles and stomach aches. If we've been working in the yard then Panaway is our go to oil for pain and muscle soreness. We have family members who have joined us on our path to healthier choices and they too find that the oils actually work better than the OTC products.

The Power of Essential Oils!

I know most people are skeptical when it comes to Essential Oils, but the truth is they are so much better for you than the chemical products we buy over the counter, or the ones our doctor prescribes to us.

I started using Young Living in January and I can truthfully say that it has saved us money. Young Living Essential Oils have helped us get over stomach viruses, sinus infections and more. They worked quicker and saved us from expensive trips to the doctor, where we usually ended up catching some other illness and causing another trip to the doctor. They also saved us from having to buy very expensive medication.

Recently a friend contacted me because her toddler had contracted Molluscum, a viral infection of the skin, sometimes called water warts. This virus can last for 6 months to 4 years. They had already seen a doctor and was told there really wasn't anything else to do but wait it out. She started looking for natural remedies and read that some Essential Oils can help. After talking to her I did some research and made a salve of Thieves Essential Oil & coconut oil. Within just a few days of using the oils they began to see improvement. It's been a few weeks now and the Molluscum is almost gone. That is the awesome power of essential oils!

If you would like to know more about Young Living Essential Oils and how they can help you, please contact me. You won't regret it!
