A Day for Goats
Our Girl Scout Troop took a field trip to a local Goat Farm today. Wesmar Farms is located in Moreauville, LA and is a great place to get soap, cheese and more all made from goats milk. The girls had lots of fun playing with the baby goats, and even learned some great info about how the goats are raised and the process behind the products being sold. They were able to taste the milk, different flavors of cheese, and ice cream. A very fun day indeed!

Girls Night
The boys left for a weekend of camping with the Boy Scouts. So, what are the girls to do? Well, we got a free rental from Redbox and spent the evening watching a movie and eating popcorn. We rented "Julie & Julia". Cute movie and very much a chick flick but fun to watch.

The Popcorn Is Here!
We picked up our shipment of popcorn yesterday. Our scout pack sold over $5000.00 worth of popcorn this year. They beat last years pack record by a land slide.
The District Executive had our order neatly stacked and ready to go when we arrived yesterday afternoon. When we got to the church several parents came over and helped sort orders which made the process go surprisingly fast. Half the orders were picked up last night and the rest should be picked up at our scout meeting on Tuesday.
Now all my son has to do is deliver his orders to the right people:)

Water
You don't realize just how important water is until you don't have any. On Tuesday we had a water pipe break. Well actually the elbow joint rusted through. Luckily Tanek saw the backyard flooding and we were able to shut off the water. Vins called the plumber but we didn't hear back from him until that night. He said he would try to make it out the next afternoon. He didn't make it. Finally at noon on Thursday we were able to get another plumber. It took him about 30 min. to fix the problem. Lucky for us the rest of the pipe (so far) was fine.
Unfortunatly the pipes run under our sidewalk and then under the asphalt driveway. We will cross our fingers. If the pipe breaks in any of those areas we will be looking at major problems.
So, two days without water doesn't sound bad except you need water for EVERYTHING. Washing clothes, washing dishes, cooking, bathing, brushing teeth, etc. We made do with a couple gallons of water and thankfully Vinson's cousin let us borrow her shower while they were out of town.
You can not imagine how happy we were when the water was turned back on.
