Redneck / Cajun Snowsled

In Louisiana we don't get much snow, and when we do it isn't a whole lot of snow. So, in order to get the most enjoyment out of a snow day we have to think outside the box. Up north people have great snowsleds and awesome snowy hills to ride down. Not so in Louisiana.

A few years ago we had a nice batch of snow land on top of us. The kids (hubby included) were ecstatic! Vinson decided to drag out the snowsled we had in the barn. It was from a previous trip to Wisconsin where they really get some snow. Since the snow wasn't really thick enough to get a good slide down the hill, he decided to attach it to the riding lawnmower. Everyone had a blast! Watch the video below to see the adventure.

Weird Wednesday - Dragon Tree

On a recent hike in Chicot Arboretum we saw this very weird tree. The roots take on the appearance of a dragons foot. You don't see that everyday!
